Alongside the Torah and its commandments, the Jewish traditions recognizes other types of law, including rabbinic law that applies to Jews and Noahide law that applies to non-Jews. Through a comparison with other major positions, this course will explore how Nahmanides developed a view of both rabbinic law and Noahide law as divinely authoritative yet uniquely human inventions.
