Class series, Fall 2019. An exploration of the Samson story, the last 5 chapters of the Book of Judges, and Megillat Ruth as a prelude to the Book of Samuel. These sessions will include a survey of attitudes towards monarchy and the centralization of human authority in other biblical texts- both narratives and biblical poetry.
