This course will explore the revelations at Sinai, Yechezkel’s Merkavah vision, Eliyahu’s encounter with the “still, small voice,” and Iyyov’s confrontation with divine justice. Sinai represents a collective, awe-inspiring experience of clarity and law-giving, while the later revelations highlight deeply personal encounters that grapple with divine majesty, subtlety, and mystery. Students will examine the evolving dynamics of prophecy and the diverse ways these encounters shaped the understanding of the divine.
