Drisha is excited to be part of the Upper West Side Celebrates Israel again in 2017. Organizations all over the upper west side will hold programs on Sunday, April 30 to celebrate Yom HaAtzmaut together as a community.
Waste Not, Want Not: Hunger and Food Rescue in Israel
The Bible is replete with commands to provide for the poor. Join us as Lauren Yoked of Leket Israel, The National Food Bank, discusses hunger and food waste in Israel and their modern response to the biblical command to provide for those in need. Refreshments will be served.

About The Upper West Side Celebrates Israel: The Upper West Side comes together to celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day. New Yorkers will celebrate the rich and complex culture, history, and people of Israel at events throughout the Upper West Side sponsored by neighborhood synagogues, schools, and Jewish organizations. Convened by The JCC in Manhattan in collaboration with and funded by UJA-Federation of New York.
